SPCG participated as the Polish advisor of Deutsche Telekom AG in the conclusion of a settlement agreement regarding shareholder rights in Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa Sp. z o.o. („PTC”), the operator of Era GSM. As a result of the settlement, Deutsche Telekom AG, through its subsidiaries, became the sole and undisputed shareholder of PTC. The value of the transaction amounted to over 2 billion EURO. The settlement has ended a dispute over the shares of PTC initiated in 1999, which was pending before arbitration and common courts in several countries. The dispute was one of the largest of its type. SPCG participated in it from 2005, representing Deutsche Telekom AG and its subsidiaries in numerous court proceedings.
During the conclusion of the settlement agreement SPCG closely cooperated with the main legal advisor of Deutsche Telekom AG, the German law firm Hengeler Mueller. In total, over a dozen leading law firms from several countries participated in the dispute.
