PRO BONO
SPCG has consequently devoted some of its time and potential to pro bono activities. The firm deals with cases and provides its opinions as well as legal help for free. This kind of pro bono actions are usually conducted for either governmental or local agencies and for universities or other non profit organizations. For the above, SPCG has provided the following legal counsel:
- Jointly with Hengeler Muller (a leading German law firm from Frankfurt am Mein) SPCG provided counsel and representation for the Jagiellonian University in the matter of theft of precious archives from the Jagiellonian Library and the subsequent illegal transportation of those archives abroad, which were then successfully retrieved.
- The representation of the Jagiellonian University in a judicial dispute with one of its largest infrastructural contractors and counsel in matters of finance law.
- The firm provides its opinions and counsel to various parliamentary committees, especially with regard to tax law, but also in other matters such as for example the counteraction against violence in all sorts of communication means (television, radio etc.)
- SPCG has also aided many foundations and other organizations dealing with social, educational and health activities.
