Candidacy of Artur Zapała, SPCG’s Partner, which is a permanent legal partner of the Chamber of Fund and Asset Management (IZFiA) and supports the Chamber in matters of legislation, recommended by IZFiA to the Consultative Working Group (CWG) at the ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) for Investment Funds (IMSC) has been positively considered.

ESMA’s main task is to issue guidelines and recommendations as well as advising the European Commission in the field of its legal acts.

I am very pleased and I feel personal satisfaction from the fact that Mr. Zapała will represent us at ESMA. Through many years of cooperation with IZFiA, he has proven his high level of specialist knowledge in the field of Polish and European regulations regarding investment funds (UCITS and AIFM), asset managers and capital market in general. His contribution will be of great importance for the work of the CWG, and will provide insight into the specificity of capital markets in the region of Central and Eastern Europe – said prof. Marcin Dyl, the president of IZFiA.

Thanks to the presence of Poland’s representative in IMSC, the geographical balance will be restored in the representation of the European fund market, as there was no delegate from the CEE region in the previous composition of the CWG.

The first meeting of the CWG in its new composition will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at the headquarters of ESMA in Paris. The meeting will be held jointly with IMSC members.
